Kiwi Ears Astral combines a 10mm bioceramic dynamic driver with six balanced armature drivers to deliver an impeccably balanced audio signature. It offers a controlled sub-bass that merges smoothly into a clear midrange and refined treble, ensuring every detail is faithfully reproduced.

10mm Dynamic Driver Subwoofer

The Astral utilizes an in-house 10mm bioceramic diaphragm dynamic driver. Our custom diaphragm material provides excellent thump in the low sub-bass frequencies that smoothly transition into a lush bass. The bass has been tuned to accommodate the unique characteristics of this driver, and features a slightly smoother transition from the bass into the mids, with a rolling cutoff at 300Hz.



6 Balanced Armature Drivers for Precision

The Astral utilizes two dual midrange balanced armature drivers and a dual ultra-high frequency tweeter. Our in-house custom midrange drivers are designed to focus on a neutral midrange to make vocals and instruments sound tonally correct, with an accurate pinna compensation curvature at 2.8kHz to perfectly match the perceived hearing of the human ear. This makes for a faithful reproduction of the sound similar to studio monitors. We have customized the famed SWFK balanced armature tweeter to have a smoother ultra-frequency treble response. This modification allows uniform integration with our midrange driver, and extends the ultra-treble frequencies without any shrill or harshness. With better treble extension and greater drive efficiency than other driver types, our new tweeter redefines balanced armature performance.



Kiwi Ears Tonal Signature

The Astral sets a new standard for the tonal profile of Kiwi Ears’ IEMs. The Astral has a powerful 9dB sub-bass shelf that has a more rounded and smoother transition into the low-midrange, cutting off at 300Hz. This transition allows the bass to roll off into the midrange more naturally, eliminating any disjointment between a typical bass shelf and the midrange. This also allows the midrange to remain flat and neutral, while being more integrated with the bass. The treble follows the tonal signature of some of the world’s best renown stage IEMs, with a perfect 2.8kHz peak that slowly rolls off into the upper treble. We have extended this roll off to be slower and more uniform until 15kHz, which extends the upper frequency reach, while staying natural and comfortable to listen to. Listeners will appreciate the added sparkle, air, and stagewidth that this treble extension provides.
